Vintage 1972 Yunnan Bronze Bull Protecting Calf From Tiger Sculpture Lijiashan With Original Plaque And Pedestal. There is some oxidation of the copper on the sculpture.
The display plaque reads: "A brief introduction into the Yunnan 'Spotted Copper Bronze Ox And Tiger'. The 'Spotted Copper Bronze Ox And Tiger' is sculpted after the cultural relic unearthed in Lijiashan, Yunnan in 1972 (Western Han Dynasty), and is made using Yunnan's unique spotted bronze sculpture craftsmanship. The calf is under the hollowed-out belly of the ox, while a tiger attacks the tail of the ox. The movement and stillness of the piece is exemplary, and the reflective surface of the copper is stunning. It is truly an excellent example of the Yunnan culture bronze sculpture."
