- The map opens to 31" x 22½"and hasgreat detail on old road alignments, including U.S. Routes 1 and 2,with cartography by the State Highway Department.
- In addition to numbered roads in thestate it also identifies seven named highways as designated by thestatelegislature: Pine Tree Trail, Arnold Highway, Arnold Trail, DouglasHighway, Moosehead Trail, Blue Star Memorial Highway, and AroostookScenic Highway.
- There are inset plans of Houlton, Rumford, Bangor-Brewer,Kittery,Portland, Lewiston-Auburn, Belfast, Brunswick, Augusta, Rockland, also a golf course directory and a list of parksand memorials.
- The color photo on the rear cover shows the West Quoddy HeadLighthouse, the only "candy striped" tower in the United States. It issituated on the easternmost point of the contiguous U.S.
