Shows signs of dirt and staining from age and may have some candlewax. The plaster is lumpy in places, which clearly occurred in the original production. Please view photos for visual details.
Handcrafted in the style of Alfonso Castillo, these whimsical pieces were made of terra cotta clay and covered with white clay/plaster before being painted in bright colors, typically with the distinctive crosshatching and loop designs seen on this one. They are highly collectible and continue to increase in value. Candleholders like these featuring ducks are rare and harder to find than those featuring other types of animals.~~~~~
