This vintage 1956 Underwood Leader typewriter in robins egg blue, is a true treasure for collectors or anyone wanting a great typing experience and well built solid machine. Made of durable steel and manufactured in the United States, this manual typewriter has it all, vintage charm perfect for display, size and weight perfect for transport, well built dependable mechanisms that have undergone a rigorous test process assuring all is in ideal working condition. Many hours of labor went into meticulously cleaning all parts, replacement of any worn out components, adjusting type, polishing, and case restoration. The case material is reinforced, fabric secured firmly, rust removal of all metal, metal polishing, and a fresh coat of paint applied. Only a very select few typewriter restoration businesses give the cases attention and they charge upwards of $900 for similar machines!

Case- cleaned, painted and sealed. Hardware was in rough shape, rust removal, polished and sealed. In good vintage condition.

Process- Any worn or broken parts replaced, new felt, totally taken apart and cleaned. Adjustments made where needed to type. Typewriter oil used sparingly in specific areas.

Works like new!

Condition Score- B/B+

For a 68 year machine, this is in amazing shape! Very minor areas of slight body damage, as in a slight shallow scratch barely visible. Way less than is what is typical for even a lot newer machines!

Polished with museum grade wax.

Body in very good condition for age.

Case hardware finish has some ware spots. Some minor cosmetic flaws but is a fully functional case.

Case was cleaned, deodorized, all lifting fabric re-glued, then painted and sealed with a product designed to harden for durability and strength.

*keys are snappy and responsive, key tops are contoured for comfort you could comfortably write for long periods of time. Does not have that annoying tinny sound models of lower quality produce, actually quite pleasant to the ears. *

New felt

Feet intact, platen and rollers typical to age but fully functional!
