U.S. Civil War Sword Model 1850 Saber-Beautifully ETCHED Bright Blade + Scabbard:

A fine early unmarked 19th century saber with a superbly double etched blade. The etched blade is mostly bright and has an EAGLE on right side and US on the left. The Model 1850 has an ornate hilt with US in the guard. Unusual pommel is deeply sculpted with different leaf motifs on each side. Overall the Blade shows some light oxidation and the tip has more oxidation and discoloration. There is a couple dark spots on each side. Blade with one wide 3/4 length fuller and a narrow fuller less than half the blade length. Blade is tight to hilt with no movement. Grip is covered in fine texture ray skin, without twisted wire, shows wear and is in very good condition. There is a ‘5’ stamped on the blade spine near the guard.
