Don’t know if original string but left it on there the other boot has no string. On inside has hood mfg co can’t make out next line then dec 21 1944 then Boston depot. At the top of boot has 9 KR. There is some fading but boots are really in good condition leather is really good and seams at the leather and rubber is good
