These are solid steel bars, 1\" diameter, 22 3/8\" long. The ends are machined as shown and there is a machined groove aprox 1/16\" on each end aprox 4 3/8\" from each end. They were turned on center in a lathe and the ends retain the machining done to set that up, making these easy to further refine on a lathe. See pics for more details. Each one weighs just under 5 pounds.
These have a cadmium coating on them for corrosion resistance if you are using them without machining.
Originally made as a spare part for an Air Force bomb loading buggy, these are great sources of steel for machining work or to forge into knives, machetes or swords due to the quality of the steel and the length. Plus if making a knife you get the added cool factor of being able to say your knife was made from steel parts of a machine that loaded bombs.
