The Seasons is a series of four poems written by the Scottish author James Thomson. The first part, Winter, was published in 1726, and the completed poem cycle appeared in 1730.
This edition, published 1842, is in fair condition. There is a name and date written on the endpaper in a flowing hand: "William Chatterton Dix October 26th 1852." Dix has an entry in wikipedia. He was a well respected writer of hymns and most famously wrote "What Child Is This?" Some foxing, as expected. A couple of pages have light pencil scrawls. Marbled covers with spine and corners leather.
