Photo # 15 shows the Pep Club and Honor Society. Rupert High School was the first all electric school building in the United States, allowing the school to be the first high school to offer technical programs like home economics and wood shop. I believe the school closed in 1956 and the new high school is now called Minico High School. Photos 16 and 17 show 2 photos of the newUniversity of Idaho-led Idaho Center for Agriculture Foodor CAFE recently broke ground on May 4th, 2023 for a new Agriculture Facility in Rupert, Idaho, located in Minidoka County, covering 628 acres. The long awaited facility which will include the nation\'s largest research dairy with over 2000 diary cows. Part of the funding comes from the amazing high price the University of Idaho received for the 282 acres of Agricultural land in Caldwell, Idaho of $23,250,000.00 which was sold after spirited offerding between home builders. The land was no longer used for experimental farming. Most school officials from the President on down were amazed and overjoyed at the price. They were hoping for maybe $9,000,000.00 if they got lucky. Photo # 17 shows theGround Breaking Ceremonywith Michael Parrella, Dean of the University of Idaho College of Agricultural and Life Sciences. Rick Naerebout, CEO of Idaho Dairymen\'s Association. former Representative Maxine Bell, Jerome, Idaho, Pete Wiersma, President of Idaho Dairymen\'s Association, Chandra Zenner Ford, executive officer of University of Idaho at Boise and Southwest Idaho. These 2 photos are not in the yearbook. These experimental dairy farming and other research facilities should be great for the high school students in Rupert by giving lots of opportunity on their front doorstep.Shelf # 11.
