SS United States - United States Cruises - HD Werft - DEMO Plan - Hold Forward:
SS United States - United States Cruises (The Richard Hadley Era) - Howaldtswerke-Deutsche Werft (HDW) Shipyard
DEMOLITION PLAN - HOLD FORWARD. Dated 20 Dez. 1984
FOLD OUT SIZE: 33" high x approx. 141" long / FOLDED SIZE: 9.75" wide x 11.25" high
This HDW plan would have been apart of Hadley's second and most ambitious plan to return the SS United States to sea as a full time cruise ship. Her 1952 outward profile would have changed significantly with the addition of decks and extensions, etc. Had this conversion gone forward, the U's length would have increased to 1,005.5 feet and her gross tonnage increased to 60,000 tons.
See photos: The paper plan is in good condition for its age but has staining, some tears here and there and is of course - delicate. I only opened this up to show those interested that the plan is fully intact. Not many of these plans laying around anymore.
Please ask any questions you may have before offerding. Sold as is - no returns. I will insure for the amount of the final sale price and ship via USPS Priority Mail.
