Pechora 92nd Infantry Regiment

The 92nd Pechora Infantry Regiment is an infantry military unit of the Russian Imperial Army .

The 1st naval regiment was formed in Kronstadt on April 29, 1803, consisting of three battalions, from the 1st, 2nd and 7th naval battalions of the Baltic Rowing Flotilla .

On September 10, 1805, four companies of the regiment, while on the squadron of Admiral Senyavin , sailed from Kronstadt to the Mediterranean Sea and, arriving in Corfu on January 18, 1806 , took part in military operations against the French . On November 10, 1806, these companies were transferred to the 2nd Marine Regiment, and instead of them, the companies of the 2nd Marine Regiment, located in Kronstadt, were assigned to the 1st Marine Regiment.

During the Patriotic War, the regiment held guard duty in St. Petersburg and only on December 3, 1812 it was assigned to the army of Count Wittgenstein . After crossing the Neman, the regiment took part in foreign campaigns and was at the siege of Danzig and then was located in the Duchy of Warsaw. On March 17, 1813, the regiment was withdrawn from the naval department and assigned to the ground forces. During the Polish uprising of 1831, the regiment took part in the battles of Grochow, Jedrzejewo and Ostroleka .

On January 28, 1833, the 1st Marine Regiment was disbanded, with the 1st and 3rd battalions joining the Nevsky Infantry Regiment, and the 2nd Battalion joining the Kaluga Infantry Regiment .

The final formation of the regiment

On April 6, 1863, from the 4th battalion of the Kaluga Infantry Regiment and indefinite leave, the 2-battalion Kaluga Reserve Infantry Regiment was formed, named on August 13, 1863, the Pechora Infantry Regiment and included in three battalions with three rifle companies. When the Pechora Regiment was formed, the seniority of the 1st and 3rd Naval Regiments from April 29, 1803 and their insignia were transferred from the Kaluga Regiment.
