I own an advertising specialty company - now in our 45th year I am happy to report - and worked in the industry for many years prior to establishing my own firm.
Over the years I collected many over-run samples, one-or-a-kind spec samples and the like.I am now offering much of that collection via . Among our suppliers of better quality writing instruments was Ritepoint Pen Company. Long ago Ritepoint Pen merged, and is no longer in business.
Here is a salesman\'s complete sample kit from 1986, plus a sales catalog from 1977, rare Ritepoint \"Z\" ruler, equally rare \"Key Matic\", and example of their oval \"Postage Guaranteed\" key ring.
Details:* First, the handsome complete salesman sample kit from 1986.The size closed is 12\" x 12.5\", in textured vinyl with nylon sewn edges for durability. There is a brass snap closure. The Ritepoint name is stamped in gold on the blue material, and information is stamped in gold on the front black strip as shown. Custom individual clear vinyl pouches are displayed on both top and bottom. There are ten removable pouches, each featuring a different Ritepoint product line. Each individual pouch is printed with the line name for clarity. There are 52 different Ritepoint removable pens. Note: In the pouch with the style Maxim-Ad pens, one liked a small amount of ink. Perhaps the most interesting example is the \"Display Top\" pen done for Dak Fasteners. It has an actual metal screw in the top!
* The fortunate recipient will also receive a sample of the Ritepoint \"Z\" Ruler. Ritepoint wanted to broaden their product line, and for a brief period sold this interesting shaped 12\" ruler. The \"Z\" design was useful to hold a couple of pens in the recessed area. It features inches on one side - centimeters on the reverse, and differing imprint.
* Keeping with Ritepoint\'scommitment to diversification, they - again briefly, sold an item called the \"Key Matic\". It was a separating key tag so one could leave car key while retaining home and other keys. This somewhat rare Ritepoint item is still in it\'s original pouch with instructions.
* Another innovative item is this \"Postage Return\" key ring. Each tag has a distinctive number, and return address. If the keys are ever lost, if dropped into a mailbox, they are returned to the advertiser and from there to the individual owner. Ritepoint did not pioneer this innovative service, but did offer it - again, only very briefly.
* I happened upon this interesting Ritepoint catalog from the year 1977 - over 45 years old! And it is in great condition - no missing or torn pages, dog ears, etc. Not only that, but with the catalog are three special sales sheets: A. Ritepoint offered their products at reduced pricing if it carried a distributors copy. Here is the salesman sheet with details related to the program. B. As an aid to sales, under certain circumstances, a distributor could get free speculative samples to show his customers. That sheet is included. C. Ritepoint had a library of stock imprinting cuts or dies that could be added to the copy at no extra charge. Here is the four page illustration of those stock cuts.
Most, if not all of the items here were manufactured in the U.S.A.
Ritepoint was a franchisedline, meaning it was sold only through a select group of distributors. I am proud to say we were among that relatively small group.
Althoughthe sample kit is over 35 years old, it is in outstanding condition. Of course as the instruments still contain original refills, to use rather than display will require a new refill - which are readilyavailable. What a find - especially in this condition!
This beautiful salesman sample kit is quite substantial and heavy as it contains so many writing instruments. And it will be well packaged to insure safe delivery.
