Up for sale is this two piece brass uniform button made for the 1848 presidential election campaign of General Zachary Taylor, \"Old Rough and Ready\" and \"The Hero of Monterey\".
2 pc, 25 MM, Depicted in Alberts Button Book as PC 227.
Face shows Taylor yielding a sword on horseback with \"Rough and Ready\" above and \"Never Surrender\" in smaller type below.
Back is tin, RMDC with \"Ne Plus Ultra\" followed by 9 stars.
Condition is excellent. Slight bend to shank, no pushes, natural patina with some signs of use. Non dug.
