Rare Georgian \'double d\' blue tinted spectacles.In their original case.​Also known as \'syphilis glasses\'; along with green lense varieties, they were commonly worn by sufferers of syphilis in the early 19th century. In good used/antique condition.Temples/wires slightly misshapen with use; couple of small scratches to one lense; rainbow stain /discolouration to one lense where metal temple has been laid on glass within case, possibly for many years (image 10).Very collectable & very of the period!Please view/supersize all photos for good clear views of item on offer and its condition. The photos are a major part of the description.
