This beautiful accent piece is a must-have for any collector of decorative items. The intricate design and mixed materials used make it an exquisite addition to any room. The glass "canning" jars are new and purchased for the "convertion to clean hot water heating".

These iconic foot warmers were used in olden days (or even today) to warm the feet during cold spells.The warmers used to be heated by dropping burning embers or hot coals from a fire into the warmer. Then with the top closed, the user's would put their feet on the top of warmer to have their feet and legs warmed by the rising warm air. This warmer has been converted to warming using hot water that is contained in 2 large canning jars that together contain more than 2 quarts of water. Canning jars are used because they can be used with very hot water.

-- Material: The structure appears to be a steel or iron base structure (it is magnetic) with ceramic added on the broad surfaces for texture and depth that provides the relief for the floral design. The bottles are made of very thick glass and are designed for canning.

-- Construction: The warmer is a brazed and welded construction (difficult to determine because the seams have been so well finished). The warmer is sturdy and weighs just under 15 pounds.

-- Colors: The external broad surfaces are colored a dark and slightly pale chinese red (paint or lacquer) with pale soft gold highlights on the raised floral and leaf pattern (see the close-up photo). The upper vents and lower gratings are solid medal that is welded and tented a dark silver with a light black patina. The internal surfaces and hidden bottom are painted black or dark gray.

-- Condition: The foot warmer is in excellent sound physical condition with no decernable chips, cracks or dents (see the photos). The canning bottles are new.
