Titled VICTORY, we see a woman raise her arm in triumphafter what appears like a race. She is bent over and spent from herefforts, but still has the strength to proclaim her victory with herextended arm!
This type of direct metal sculpture was incredibly difficultto construct. It uses many pieces of metal melted together to
form the sculpture. For VICTORY, Johanson used a non-ferrous metaland attached to a redwood base. This is an incredibly powerfulwork and the message of victory and triumph it sendstranscends all times and all places.
