PAIR OF DINANDERIE VASES FROM THE EVOLUTION SERIES BY PAUL LOUIS MERGIER, 1920s14.5\" (36.8 cm.) high, engraved with EVOLUTION mark of descending triangles and each numbered as a set “365/1805\"; each inlaid with linear and geometric motifAttributed to Paul Louis Mergier (1891-1986) who designed many works for the Evolution series in the 1920\'s-30\'s in French art deco dinanderie style. The dinanderie technique, founded in the Flemish town of Dinant hundreds of years ago, involves the hand-shaping and inlay of metal (including brass, copper, bronze) into various objects.. Condition: Overall good condition, considering their age, with 3-4 tiny surface indents in each; the only noticeable one being in the last photograph: shallow - .25\" deep - and 1.5\" x .75\'\' in size.
