This recent find comes from Estate of Retired NASA MSFC Aerospace Engineer that was part of ABMA and NASA working with Wernher von Braun on the pioneering Rocket Team. Mr. Jerry Thomson was ultimately responsible for the development and Testing of the "H1", J2 and F1 Rocket Engines and eventually put in charge of the Shuttle "SSME" development in 1968, Lastly from 1971-86 he served as Chief Engineer for the Space Shuttle Main Engine where he helped design the RS-25. This listing is for a NASA APOLLO 11 STERLING SILVER COIN marking the 25th ANNIVERSARY OF MAN'S FIRST LUNAR LANDING on July 20, 1969. Coin is appx. 1" diameter and weighs 31.10 grams. Coin has been stored in clear acrylic case as can be seen in pictures and will be shipped in this case as well. Coin is stamped .999 FINE SILVER, but is gold in color so has gold overlay.
