Absolutely charming singing bird box. Fully mechanical movement, but pops up, turns and sings with a moving beak and wings.
I believe this is a mid century reproduction of the GRIESBAUM bird boxes of the 19th century, possibly dating around the 50\'s or 60\'s. It\'s a lovely piece with hand painted and enamelled surfaces and cabochons on the corners.
Movement is working, though our little birdie needs some of his feather glued back on (you can see the breast feathers pulling away...easy to get red feathers from the craft store).
A great novelty to have around the house and a mechanical marvel.
