Guitar Wall Clock--Real Guitar Body And Genuine Guitar Parts--From Electroclock:
$90.00

\'ve been makng guitars for almost a decade--over 250 made/sold. When I decided to make wall clocks, this just seemed natural. So I\'m making guitar clocks. These are made with authentic generic guitar parts--but please don\'t try to turn this into a functional guitar. It won\'t work, and then you\'ll lose this amazingly cool clock.
I started with a solid paulownia replica Stratocaster body. I gave it my hand rubbed oil finish. I modified a pickguard to fill in the pickup holes with wooden inserts. I would put actual pickups in these, but powerful magnets and clocks don\'t get along very well. I painted it black, with Art Deco style pinstriping. Gold art deco hands complete the look. The pickguard is sort of functional. The buttons push, the switch flips and the knob turns. They just don\'t do anything. There is also a whammy bar (removable), but it won\'t do anything either, because I immobilized the bridge. If you try pulling on the whammy bar, you\'ll probably bend it.
The movement is a non-ticking high torque movement. It\'s almost completely silent, the second hand sweeps and it runs on one AA battery. The battery isn\'t included. I\'d love to include one, but I am prohibited from doing so. For best results, use carbon/zinc batteries. These are the same type of battery as the old Evereadys with the silver wrapper. Today, they\'re called \"Super Heavy Duty\", and both Eveready and Panasonic make them. They\'re also cheaper than alkaline batteries.
The movement is behind the tremolo cover on the back. I put it on with two screws for your convenience.
The clock\'s name is Oahu. I name all of my clocks after places, in lieu of serial numbers. Oahu is Hawaii\'s most populated island. Gorgeous place.
