Sakai 11491 Kimun Kamuy 2The overall design of this sturdy knife is intended to give excellent grip and durability to withstand the harsh winters experienced in the northern Hokkaido prefecture of Japan. In the native Hokkaido Ainu language, the name Kimun Kamuy refers to the brown bear as the "Mountain God". Designed by Takaaki Chujo, the Kamun Kamuy II takes its inspiration from its namesake. Chujo designed the blade to have the likeness of the brown bear tooth, giving it great performance in self-defense as well as enhanced use as a skinner. The 0.141" thick VG-10 core Damascus blade offers both beauty and the durability you expect from a great hunting knife. The handle is black G10 and it comes with a brown leather sheath. G. Sakai has produced quality knives for many top brands over the decades, including Al Mar, SOG, and Spyderco. For several years it made knives for Gerber, even changing its name to "Gerber Sakai" which was subsequently shortened to G. Sakai. The company now produces Spyderco's Japanese made knives which are known for their exceptional quality. G. Sakai continues to produce quality cutlery under its own name.
