The japanning is in worn used condition. The sole & cheeks have some spotting & pitting. The cap has some wear & loss japanning. The cutter is pitted and discolored and would need to be sharpened The cutter is marked with a Sargent No 5307, it measures 4-5/8\" x 1-5/8\". This plane has an adjustable mouth; the front toe area of the sole can be adjusted by an eccentric lever to the desired throat opening. A tight throat for delicate work and a wider throat for heavier cuts. Weighs 1.5oz.This plane is a must have for hand tool woodworkers.
