I think it might be soapstone but I can't swear to it great graphics on the panels and on the top the things in really nice shape. Some of the strings have been replaced and Some are missing one of the panels I believe was glued it along time ago. . It looks like it has seen a lot of use. Interesting and lovely older Ethiopian Coptic Christian artifact. Interesting to wonder if this was actually used in masses and not just a poorest piece.
