This is an uncommonDevonian trilobite from a classic locality. It is an enrolledPhacops loganifrom the Onondaga Formation of Pennsylvania, famous for the large Odontocephalus trilobites. This specimen was foundand prepared years ago by trilobite savant, the late, greatEugene Thomas. This trilobite is obviously enrolled, but it is hard to tell if the tail is there or not. Either way, ANY example of this trilobite from this locality isextremely rare, especially since it has the original shell (\"skin\") preserved. Thedistinct trilobite exhibitsfine detail and displays quite well.Thecool bug has great color and contrast and is well showcased on the natural-edged block of matrix. This is adecently-collectible example ofthisclassic phacopid trilobite found in the 1980\'s.
