Description: Album with olive green boards and silver imprint on front and back. Moderately soiled. Binding is holding but back strip has pulled from spine. \"Art Album\" copyrighted 1896 by Williams, Brown & Earle of Philadelphia. Contains twenty 4 x 5 inch silver gelatin photographs laid into pockets and are removeable. Overall photos show good contrast; several of the sailing images slightly overexposed.

Photographer has captured various unposed scenes from Coney Island and Rockaway Beach New York including several noted landmarks, typical crowded beach scenes and boats offshore. Some of the finer images feature identifiable businesses including the Wainwright & Smith Pavilion in Rockaway, Balmer\'s Bathing Pavilion on Coney Island, and W.M. Muller Restaurant and Cafe. Alos included is a photo of the boat Cygnus which ran between Rockaway and Coney Island. Coney Island albums seem to be uncommon. More images upon request.
