I acquired this lovely piece at an estate sale in historic Perrysburg, Ohio. The couple who lived in the home were world travelers. They had a large amount of fine art. This is a one-of-a-kind, hand-sculpted statue of ballerina, likely Natacha Nattova. It was made as a display piece and acquired by the homeowners or was specially custom-made for the homeowners. I wish I could tell you who the artist is as I did not see a signature.

The statue is on its wooden, oval base stands tall at 27" and 14" wide. It has a nice weight to it. I'm leaning toward the bronze composition as the metal has a lovely patina.

The nicely detailed face and hands make me believe its post-modern 1970s and rules out any abstract artist. It would make a beautiful piece in either a dancers studio or on display in the home.
