Taken from an antique photo album of McDermott family photos, mostly from the Mansfield, Ohio area. Included in the album was a letter of genealogical research done in 1978, which I used as a clue to identify this young woman, along with old newspaper research from the time period. I can include a copy of the letter for your records if you so choose. My best deduction is that this is a granddaughter of James Bell McDermott, who moved to the area from Richland County, Ohio in the 1850's. Based on the photographer's history, I would date this photo to the early to either 1887 or 1888.
