Greetings everyone, here we have yet another project for your consideration that needs completion. Black Forest time and strike clock, wood plate movement that functioned fine in the test stand but, after I installed it back in the case, she stopped. I think the leader is making contact with the case. Regardless, I\'m selling this one for parts or repair, the movement should be gone through anyhow.
I took pics of the movement outside the case and it appears to have been well looked after, I also noticed the anchor pallet support on the front plate was unique and I\'m happy to report, I\'ve seen this one before, I believe it is Kienzle. I do love it when a mystery is solved, Maybe some of you folks remember, I listed a wood plate cuckoo in the past with this same embellishment and another member was courteous and gracious enough to inform me of the maker and origins of the clock, thank you Darrin.
Moving on, enamel dial with some damage, the minute hand is pretty sloppy on it\'s arbor, that also may be the cause of the movement failing to run mounted in the case I just realized, didn\'t pay close enough attention I guess. This clock is also missing some lower and upper embellishments or carvings, I have other clocks similar and they have a pretty simple flat pieces of lumber that could be easily reproduced using a scroll saw maybe and then hand painted scroll work to match the original above the dial. Also, color stained to match the case, in this instance a flat black and very deep reddish tone, looks nice.
Please see the pics of the top and bottom of the clock case, it is slotted to accept the mounts for the crest decor and bottom decor. The chains, the chain on the time train is a close enough fit but, the strike chain definitely does not fit. I counted 53 LPF on the time train chain in case you want to check your stock for a replacement. Nice spring time project for someone, Good luck all...
