The arctic soldier's last line of defense against the cold, these extreme cold weather mittens designed to keep you in the fight at temperatures as low as -60 degrees Fahrenheit. They feature a removable button in dual layer quilted nylon liner, an adjustable nylon gauntlet with two cinching straps, a deerskin palm and a fiber backing that can be used to warm the cheeks and face. They also feature a lanyard with a button strap to assist with retention during tactical situations. This strap also allows the mittens to be attached to a pack when not in use although most manuals discourage this practice as it allows snow and moisture to more easily enter the mittens. One of the cinching straps on the gauntlet also has a snap button allowing the mittens to be joined together when not in use.
