It is staggering to think that the world had barely just seen the first artificial satellite launches, and just a decade later NASA and JPL were able to land probes on the moon which sent back pictures and did experiments paving the way for Apollo landings just a few years later!
These came from a collection of a former JPL employee in Pasadena California. One of the pictures above approaching the last day looks very cold and lonely. It is also interesting to realize that one of the Apollo missions were close enough to walk over to one of the Surveyor probes that was on the moon (Apollo 12 visited Surveyor III).
Used, as-is. Envelope has been opened and has fading, small notches and tears along edges. Set of pictures are in very good condition with only minor aging on edges. See attached pictures.
