Handsomefold-out 1951 Mobil road map of New Jersey, Delaware, and theChesapeake Bay area, printed morethan 65 years ago.The map opens to a generous 33½" x 18" and has great detail on oldhighway alignments, with cartography by Rand McNally.There is an insetplan of Atlantic City, and the New Jersey Turnpike is shown as "under construction."On the reverse side there is a map of Delawareand the coastal areas of Maryland and Virginia, on both sides of theChesapeake Bay, plus inset plans of Trenton, Newark-Jerseycity-Elizabeth, and the Philadelphia-Camdenarea.The map was distributed by the Socony-Vacuum Oil Company in 1951 topromote its Mobilgas and Mobiloil brands. The cover art features thecompany'sdistinctive flying red horse, and the map is dated by the code numberin the lower margin: 1-4607-11.Condition: This map is in very good, lightly usedcondition, with no rips or tears.
