- This map opens to 18\" x 24\"and has greatdetail on old highway alignments, with cartography by H.M. Gousha.
- On thereverse side there are inset plans of Chattanooga, Knoxville,Louisville, Lexington, Nashville, Memphis, Great Smoky MountainsNationalPark, and the Reelfoot Lake area.
- This map was distributed in 1942 by the Shell Oil Company and is datedby the code number in the lower margin: 12-P-1942-1.
- There is a wartime message on the cover: \"Allpoints of militaryinterest have been removed voluntarily from this map and index.\"A second message is printed in the upper and lower margins of themap:\"Maps are paper — Paper is important to our war effort — Help usconserve it by saving this map.\"
