The name Coelophysis means “hollow form” and refers to the hollow bones found in this dinosaur’s skeleton. It was a bipedal dinosaur with a long, slender body, a long neck, and a narrow head with sharp teeth. Coelophysis is one of the earliest known dinosaurs and is considered an important species for understanding the evolution and diversity of dinosaurs during the Mesozoic Era.
