This is a unusual and profound Antique Vintage Modern Surrealist Fauve Woman Portrait Oil Painting on canvas, depicting a yellow-skinned and well dressed auburn haired seated woman, who looks away from the viewer with her back turned. This is a very succinctly rendered Expressionist painting from the 1970’s, and the figure is depicted against a abstracted green background. Signed and dated: “Jurate 1975” in the lower right corner. Perhaps you know more about this artist or their work? This is a large painting, approximately 36 5/8 x 48 1/4 inches (including frame.) Actual artwork is approximately 36 x 48 1/4 inches. Good condition for age, with some mild soiling and light staining in a few places (please see photos.) The original period frame is missing the wooden bars on the top and bottom of the painting, which are easily and inexpensively replaceable. Shipping will be high for this piece due to its very large size. Local pickup is also an option. This work is a statement piece and would make a huge impact in the decor of any tasteful Modern home.
