It was published in 1940 and is a classic Batman and Robin bright red cover. The comic book is graded 3.5 Very Good- by the Certified Guaranty Company (CGC) with Off White pages.Cert # 2103216003. It is the 4th appearance of the Joker and the 1st mention and appearance of Gotham City . It was created by Jerry Robinson, Bob Kane, and Bill Finger. This copy was graded in March 2020. I bought it on on May 28 2020, and unfortunately that was the only time it spent in a nice pristine CGC case. The seller I bought it from packaged it terribly and the case was cracked. I removed it from the outer hard case but kept it sealed in its inner plastic sleeve. It certainly displayed better than in that cracked case. I didnt get it re-slabbed but it has been stored very safely and securely since, and I will completely guarantee that it will retain its grade if resubmitted. This example looks great for a 3.5, without the typical types of damage like color breaking creases that makes most of these 80 + year old comics look less attractive. Also bright and crisp color covers, which really looks amazing with this beautiful red cover. Below is the CGC cert info with graders notes:
