This is an early and well doneAntique Old West Social Realism Americana Cowboy Portrait Oil Painting on Masonite, depicting the portrait of a wistful cowboy smoking a cigarette. His hat is ruffled, and he wears a red neckerchief around his neck. Signed: "S. Fountaine" in the lower right corner. I could not find any information on thisartist, but perhaps you know more about them or their work? Approximately 28 3/4 x 34 1/2 inches (including frame.) Actualartwork is approximately22 x 28 inches. Good condition for age, withsome moderate scuffing and edge wear to the originalperiod frame (please seephotos.)
