This is an sale of vintage science fiction fanzines. This particular sale includes issue #209 of LOCUS, a professional journal and news magazine of the science fiction field, published by Charles and Dana Brown out of San Francisco. It was founded in 1968 by Charlie Brown, Ed Meskys and Dave Vanderwerf. It took over a role formerly played by several earlier newszines, including James Taurasi’s FANTASY TIMES, which later became SCIENCE FICTION TIMES. It has won a total of 29 Hugo Awards in the Best Fanzine and Best Smiprozine categories.
