Science just knows how to decide who gets to sit in the seat of authority, the one who can publish a scientific theory that can't be falsified and expands knowledge ... it's not about any sort of popularity or authority.

That's why science can't be controlled or crushed by religion, politics or military ... the ultimate control is not a person or organization but an ideal a singular goal of all scientists.

That is the reason science looks and works the same no matter what the background of the person or politics of the country doing it.

The bonus science has is that knowledge has always equaled power be it military, economic or political and thus those who want power aid and value science.

It is the secret of why science survives and always will.

Many of the other things like you describe such as politics and religion need a person or body to be the authority over it and thus are inherently fragile to corruption from within and influences from outside.

I believe in "Evil, Bad, Ungodly fantasy science and maths", so I am undoubtedly wrong to you.
