It might not happen so soon because of the very fine dust
that will hinder just about everything mechanical and electronic.
A conventional filter would not prevent the dust from entering a persons lungs, as it would clog everything pretty quickly.

Prehaps an Electrostatic filter fitted within the living quarters?
Seems like Martian dust will put back this project for at least a decade.
