Phys.Org:At the solar system's edge, more surprises from Voyager
There has been a surprising drop in the number of cosmic rays from the Solar System, with an increase in the number of cosmic rays from the galaxy. So the edge of the Solar System is different from what was expected, again.

Of course one of the amazing things about this is that both Voyager 1 and Voyager 2 are still operating. The cosmic ray detectors have stepping motors on them, and every 192 seconds the motors rotate the detectors 45 degrees. And they have been doing it since 1977. Just having the detectors still working after that length of time is amazing. "The device, designed and tested to work for 500,000 steps and last four years, has been working for nearly 36 years and well past 6 million steps." That is reliability.
