I thought at first that it was an April Fool's story. But a look at the date precludes that. I shall be on the lookout for more stories about this phenomenon. Good hunting!

"burgeroids"

Must remember that one. Could be handy as a term of abuse.

You burgeroid! Of course, I would never use it on a poster on SAGG.

I dont think so , I have my own little hypothesis.

if you will notice the violet band is at the top of the rainbow at the top.
and the violet band is at the bottom of the rainbow at the bottom.

now notice the difussion of light between the two rainbows.

in physics when there is a decrease there is a coresponding increase.

so I think that the bottom rainbow has reflected some of the light to
the top rainbow thereby reversing the bands of light in the top rainbow.

meanwhile the light reflecting off of the bottom rainbow
that forms the top rainbow has increased its speed past
the speed of light causing a decrease in the light
intensity between the two rainbows.

LOL

actually , the light that is reflected off of the bottom rainbow has decreased its intensity because it has decreased its speed!

that doesnt make sence!!!

all we have is the speed of light and its intensity.

2 decreases in physics?

HELP

BTW: I know the twin rainbows in the above video are from
a simulation , but naturally occurring twin rainbows look the same.

as in the first few frames in the below video.

the light entering your eyes from the top rainbow has been reflected twice
the light entering your eyes from the bottom rainbow has been reflected once

when you see a twin rainbow the top rainbow is seen because of the light that reflects off of the bottom rainbow.

I just had to put this up

dare to dream
