From SciAm article:

"Simple math may explain why toddlers experience a sudden burst of words—and why some talk earlier and more than others."

We have a little girl who turned three in April. Lately she's shown evidence of starting up the curve.

We also have a parrot. A Harlequin Macaw, seven years old, PK, short for Psittacine Kane. PK has about 25 words in her "Vocab", Macaws are not big talkers. but when she does pick up a new word or name or phrase, I've noticed she'll "drop" another word, you'll never hear it again.

Is that supposed to be "Jesuits"? What, indoctrinate kids at a tender age and you've got them forever? One need only remember the pig Napoleon in Orwell's "Animal Farm". He demanded that the puppies be turned over to him for "training".

Aside from that, I've always said, "Be careful around kids; what you put in a kid's head stays there."
