- Offered here is a gorgeous set of Kronheim & Oldenbusch (K&O) bookends: “Hope”
- Circa 1932
- These are based on a well-known oil painting by George Frederic Watt in 1886. In his painting, our musician is depicted,sitting on a globe, blindfolded, clutching a wooden lyre, with only one string intact. She sits in a hunched position with her head leaning forward towards to hear the faint music she makes with a sole remaining string.
- The paint and patina on this set is very good condition.
- The K&O shop mark is on the backside of each piece.
- Construction is gray metal with a painted finish
- Take a good look at the photos and all of the intricacies of the casting.
- Great condition.
- The K&O bookends are 6 1/8 inches tall, 5 1/8 inches wide and 2 1/2 inches deep.
