EKM-Omnimeter Iv.3 - Universal kWh Meter

This meter is a powerful addition to our product line. Our Universal Omnimeter I v.3 accurately meters all electrical systems commonly used in the world--120V, 2-wire, single-phase through 480V, 3-phase 4-wire, 50Hz or 60Hz. Accurately meter less than 1 amp to up to 5000A with this one meter model!

Supports current transformers (CTs) from 100A through 5000A. CT current rating is selectable internally in the meter so readout is always correct, no conversion factor or multiplier.

External current transformer (CT) type meter, allows for easy installation. 1 to 3 CTs required per meter and are not included in with this listing. Depending on your electrical system you will need:

• 1 CT for 120 volt 2-wire systems

• 1 CT for 230v 2-wire foreign systems

•2 CTs for 120/240 V 3-wire systems

•2 CTs for 3-phase 3-wire systems (works up to 415 volts)

•3 CTs for 3-phase 4-wire systems (up to 480 volts line to line).

This meter has been accuracy tested and certified by the State of California Department of Weights and Measures. It is California Type Approved and meets California standards for revenue-grade metering. Many other states also accept California Type Approval for their revenue-grade metering requirements.

This is a brand new kWh meter that is designed and manufactured by EKM Metering. It is the most advanced electronic KWH meter available on the market. Our Universal EKM-OmniMeter can meter any system that is commonly used in the world up to 480V. It can accurately meter 50 or 60Hz, 120V through 480V, 1-phase or 3-phase, it is accurate to 0.5% and can meter up to 5000 amps. Installation is easy with external current transformers (CTs). However, installation should only be performed by a qualified electrician. This model requires 1 to 3 CTs, depending on you electrical system. Spec sheet/instruction manual included. Dimensions are approx. 3\"w x 4\"h x 2.5\"d.

These meters have a non-resettable, 7 digit LCD readout with tenths, and read directly in kWh, no conversion factors as with some other electronic meters. These also have built-in data storage which is readable via a 2-wire RS-485 serial connection to your PC (RS-485 data connections A and B in the photo). In addition, they have a built-in pulse output, 800 pulses per kWh. They are perfect for remote and automatic meter reading (AMR) applications.

RS-485 Data:

These meters communicate over RS-485. This is a very powerful industrial standard of communication which allows up to 256 meters to be connected on up to 4000 feet of wire to one communication converter. We have, EKM Push gateways, USB to RS-485, Serial (RS-232) to RS-485, and Ethernet to RS-485 Converters available. You must use one of these converters to read your meters with your computer or over the internet. We have these converters available on or on our website. We supply a FREE version of our EKM Dash software that will allow you to read an unlimited number of meters within your building or over the internet. We also have a $30 version of the Dash available, which will let you log your meter reads to a spreadsheet and schedule monthly email reports. There are no monthly or annual fees for this software. Our EKM Dashsoftware is compatible with PC, Mac OSX, and Linux.

From within Encompass, users can name meters, group and name them appropriately, and assign a cost per kWh. Users can also schedule reports to be sent daily or monthly, which can be used to bill tenants in relevant cases. Encompass allows users to monitor meters individually or group meters together to aggregate data. Data is available to display in a variety of ways on customizable dashboards. \"Widgets\" can be added, removed, customized, or repositioned on each dashboard. This allows you to only display the data that is relevant for your needs.
