Did you know that the first real Christmas card appeared in England in 1794?
It was painted by the artist Dobson to his friend. So he congratulated the magnificent family on the holiday, drawing a family scene around the Christmas tree and a winter landscape.
A friend did not just like this congratulation, but he was delighted with it. And the next year, Dobson drew several new cards, cast them into pieces, received several dozen holiday cards and sent them to all his acquaintances as a Christmas present.Since this all started.
The world\'s first printed Christmas cards were issued in 1843 in England. In Germany, they began to spread widely at the beginning of the 20th century.The world\'s first printed Christmas cards were commissioned in London by Sir Henry Cole, an English entrepreneur and public figure, one of the founders of the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.In 1843, he did not have time to personally write congratulations to all relatives, friends and business partners by hand. Therefore, this very busy man turned to illustrator John Colcott Horsley with a request to develop a sketch, which was then reproduced by typography.
