In the 18th century naval captains used signal cannons and thunder mugs to communicate with the ports upon arrival into the harbor. Today you can own your very own cannon to celebrate birthdays, reunions, Independence Day or New Years. Light it off near the sea and call your very own Kraken.

Because of the length of my lathe I cannot drill a solid piece. So this is made from 3 separate pieces of machined steel that are press fit together and then welded. It is engineered to withstand extremely high pressure loads. You can think of this as a solid piece of metal and the seams have been blended so you’ll never know where they are. The trunnions are pressed AND welded for maximum security.

These signal cannons are a crowd pleaser at all celebrations as their "boom" is an experience to behold. Even Thor, The God of Thunder, nods his head in approval to these billet machined recreational signal/alute cannons. These are crafted by myself, a professional machinist, in the heart of American Fork, Utah.I only use structural grade USAAISI 1018 CRS (Cold Rolled Carbon Steel).Feel the heft of nearly 45 pounds of thunder in your hands. Perfect for holiday celebrations, birthdays, Independence Day, New Year's, etc. (Follow your state and local laws)While these units are often beautifully machined, please note that is common to have machine tool marks, vice marks, and chuck marks on the surface from the machining operations. Directions For Use:Insert the 1/8" fuse into the fuse hole. Pour between 125 grains to 1000 grains of BP into the muzzle. Start with smaller measurements and work up from there. Load wadding into the muzzle - I use hot dog buns as they squish very nicely in the muzzle and make a hard pack. Point in a safe direction at least 100 feet from people/pets/property. Light the fuse.
Maintenance:This unit comes without any protective clear coat or bluingso it is suspect to rust. To clean, use hot soapy water and re-coatwith oil. Keep oiled whenever in storage. Any kind of oil will work but WD-40 or gunoil is preferred. Prone to rust and powder markings.
