This is a unique very Old Stone Ax Scraper or Knife from the Sepik River Valley People Cannibal Tribes of new Guinea. I bought this, and one others that I have also listed on , about 35 years ago and just found them unpacking some boxes. The tags are the ones that were on when I bought them. The price is the price Ipaidback then. The person I bought them said that they came from the Sepik River Valley people who practicedcannibalism, possibly until the 1940s or 1950s.I was also advised that this was awell defined Knife Ax or Scraper with patina. The was probably used in the 1800s or early 1900s,This stone shows some wear and use as well as chipping on the edges as shown.
