The film will be set between the events of Avengers: Doomsday (2026) and Avengers: Secret Wars (2027).
- While no confirmed details of the story have surfaced, Spider-Man 4 will be directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, who also directed Shang-Chi for Marvel Studios. It is speculated that the Marvel hero Shang-Chi will guest-star in the film, and that one of the film\'s villains will be MISTER NEGATIVE, who makes his FIRST APPEARANCE in Amazing Spider-Man #546 (2008).
- A second villain speculated for the film is the SPIDER-QUEEN, once Adriana Soria, one of the first women ever to become a marine duringthe early days of World War II. There, Soria and her unit were unwittingly exposed to the Super Soldier serum and intense radiation. The lone survivor, she was driven mad and escaped the asylum where she was being held. Sometime afterward, she developed powers and called herself \"The Queen.\"
- In her FIRST APPEARANCE in Spectacular Spider-Man #15(2004), The Queen uses her abilities to control Spider-Man, whose \"insect gene\" made him vulnerable. Years later, The Queen would orchestrate the events of SPIDER-ISLAND.
