ANOTHER GREAT MILITARY OMEGA WATCH FROM TIMEISPRECIOUS!!FOR YOUR BUYING PLEASURE TODAY IS THIS FANTASTIC ORIGINAL OMEGA STEEL CASED BRITISH RAF MILITARY 1956 BLACK DIAL WRIST WATCH WITH A SUPER OMEGA CAL 30-T2SC MOVEMENT IN SUPERB CONDITION.FULLY SERVICED AND A FANTASTIC EXAMPLE OF THIS RARE AND SOUGHT AFTER WRIST WATCH!!I AM A 100% POSITIVE ER SINCE 2002-PLEASE BUY WITH CONFIDENCE.In 1956 the British Ministry Of Defence modified existing stocks of the wartime Omega Navigator\'s wrist watches and replaced the dials, crowns and cases but retained the beautifully accurate chronometer rated 30 T2 SC movements which had given such great service during the war years. The watches had robust all steel Dennison cases and screwed steel backs.
CASE:
This superb Omega \'56 RAF navigator/Pilots wristwatch has a nice chunky steel case.The case only shows light wear and tear consumerate with its age. I can see no noticeable dents or dings. The back of the case has is stamped with the letters A.M.(Air Ministry) and is numbered 6B/159 and 3352/56. The case back shows some wear scratches through normal service use and opening of the case back. The inside of the case back is unsigned as it should be. The case measures 3.5cms (35mm) in diameter. The case is in lovely original condition.
DIAL:
This is a lovely original black military FULLY SIGNED OMEGA dial.This example has the typical MOD replacement matt black dial with Tritium markers. The hands look to be the original blued steel hands which have been Tritium coated by the MOD..They look very nice and are in good original condition showing some marks here and there. The dial has Arabic numerals which are good and show no discernable wear. It is signed \'OMEGA\' with the OMEGA trademark. The dial has a centre second hand which is in very good condition and is painted white. The hour markers around the dial edge have Tritium too. The dial has a lovely white outer minute track. The crystal is new and is in excellent condition.
MOVEMENT:
This is a beautiful genuine OMEGA 30-T2SC 16 jewel manual wind movement. This movement has been FULLY SERVICED at considerable cost by my watchmaker. It is in excellent working order and has kept good time as tested over a 24 hour period. It is smooth running and winds and sets well. It is numbered 986XXXX dating it to circa 1943. It is fully stamped \'OMEGA\' and \'SWISS\'. The crown seems to be original and looks great.
BAND:
This beautiful watch has a black genuine leather band fitted which is brand new. It has not been worn. The band and watch measure 9 inches in total length, so I would estimate that the watch will fit up to an 8 and 3/4 inch wrist comfortably.
