”MVD”Letters, rare type,circa 1970's.

Silvergilt, enamels. Three-piece construction . Low Serial #6956

This typefeatures large letters "MVD" in the red plaque compared to theearlier, brass version of the Distinguished MVD badge. Unlike on the earlierbadge, the reverse is not flat: it has raised oval platform in the center withmint mark "MMD" (Moscow Mint).

The badgeexhibits beautiful enamel quality and outstanding workmanship throughout.

Inexcellent condition. The enamel is essentially flawless .

The giltfinish on the hammer & sickle and especially on the hilt of the sword isextremely well preserved and bright. Very attractive even patina to thereverse.

Originalmint marked screw plate is included.
